Preparations for ProFrutal 2009, a Travelling Fresh Fruit Expo
ProFrutal 2009 is the first traveling exposition of fresh fruit in Argentina. The organizers propose a unique program to be presented in three different fruit growing regions in order to facilitate the cooperation of producers in these three zones. On June 8th, the site for the meeting will be Alto Valle in Río Negro, on Wednesday the 10th it will be Mendoza’s turn, heading the region of Cuyo, and finally on the 12th in Tucumán the Argentinean Northwest will be shown (NOA). Argentina is taking its first steps in the exploration of Petit Verdot as a pure varietal. Until recently, it was practically impossible to find it pure. We did find the Malbec Verdot by Luigi Bosca, a variety born from a cross between Malbec and Petit Verdot that was discovered by the engineer Alberto Arizu (Leoncio Arizu - Luigi Bosca) and the engineer Alberto Alcalde, the famous specialist of the INTA.
